SEVERN SOUND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION

The Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA) is seeking watershed-wide nominations for the SSEA Champion Awards.

Last year the SSEA recognized 10 individuals for their leadership for a range of actions including invasive species management, creating pollinator habitat, advancing education and outreach through innovative communications, citizen science, water quality monitoring, tree planting and students leading action by engaging their communities and peers.

“Each year we look to our community to help us recognize the incredible people and groups who are going above and beyond to keep our water clean, our soil healthy and our communities more resilient and sustainable,” says Julie Cayley. the SSEA executive director. “Their effort and commitment is inspiring and reminds us that together we can make a difference.”

If you know someone doing great things to support the health of the Severn Sound watershed, let us know. The nomination process is simple and straightforward. Eligibility requirements and the award nomination forms are now online www.severnsound.ca/our-partners/award-nomination-forms. The deadline to submit a nomination is March 8, 2024. These awards will be handed out at the SSEA awards ceremony taking place April 5, 2024.
